Between 2016 and 2022, we were asked to redesign a series of office conversions in various locations across the city of Addis. During the period of the global pandemic, there was a significant increase in the number of people seeking to restore the "cubicle", with individual office spaces for a safer working environment. Yet more importantly, there was also a growing recognition of the benefits of transparent businesses operating in shared facilities and large, open, flexible work spaces. The necessity for a symbiotic integration of both approaches is evident, encompassing designated areas for telephone conferencing or exclusive meetings, in conjunction with an open and inviting "trading floor".
